This Windsurf Sails category brings together a broad range of designs and sizes, from compact wave sails to efficient freeride, slalom and foil-focused models. OutdoorXL is a store and webshop with a large assortment and extensive choice; we offer products from multiple brands and do not produce them ourselves.

Choosing sail size is mainly about expected wind range and board pairing. Smaller sails around 3.0–4.5 m² keep control in strong wind and waves. Mid sizes around 5.0–6.5 m² suit all-round freeride use. Larger sails from 7.0 m² upward deliver drive for speed, early planing and efficient foiling. Product pages list recommended wind ranges to help compare.

Construction influences handling and durability. Monofilm panels keep weight down and feel crisp. X-Ply reinforcements add tear resistance for surf and bump & jump. Dacron in specific panels can soften the power delivery for easier control. More battens and optional cambers increase shape stability and top speed; no-cam layouts stay lighter and easier to rig and flip during maneuvers.

Compatibility with your mast and boom is essential. Check the sail’s luff length and boom length, the recommended mast length, diameter (RDM or SDM) and IMCS stiffness. Most modern designs favor constant-curve masts for correct shape. Use the right extension to reach the printed luff length, and set downhaul and outhaul to the brand’s trim marks for the intended wind range.

What’s typically included is the sail and a protective bag; mast, boom, base and extension are separate items. Rinse with fresh water after salt use, dry fully before storage, and protect film from prolonged UV to extend lifespan. Filters on this page help sort by discipline, size, mast type and construction so you can quickly narrow to the right windsurf sail for your setup.
