Weighing just 390 g per binding, the Backland Summit 5 BR helps reduce fatigue on long ascents. The included brake stops runaway skis if the binding releases, and its adjustable DIN range from 3 to 5 suits lighter skiers or anyone prioritizing a low-weight configuration.

The DIN range refers to the release-force settings standardized by the Deutsches Institut für Normung. A setting between 3 and 5 means the binding will let your boot release under moderate force, balancing secure retention during descents with timely release to help reduce injury risk in a fall.

The Release Value Adjustment offers release values up to 5 for trustworthy operation, superior safety, and performance. The Patented Step-in Aid with an integrated toe bar guides the boot perfectly into alignment. AutoFlex System features a spring in the heel mechanism that automatically provides 5mm of travel between the toe and heel during the arc of a turn. The result is an easy-to-use binding that provides elasticity to support the natural ski flex and further enhances safety, absorption, and performance. A Climbing Aid adjusts from 0° to 7° with a simple flick of ski pole and touring brakes feature a unique lock system that switches easily from hike to ski mode. Featuring an Alu/PA Pin Toe and Heel, the high-performance PA material is reinforced with fiberglass to keep it light, easy, and accessible.
