The Northern Point Men softshell jacket from Jack Wolfskin is designed for those who spend time outdoors and need reliable protection against wind and light precipitation. It’s a hooded mid-layer that you can pull on over a base layer or under a shell, offering an extra barrier when the weather turns blustery.

Made from 100% polyester stormlock softshell ripstop 3L, this jacket combines a tough outer weave with a flexible construction that stands up to branches, rocks and everyday wear. The integrated hood adds coverage when the wind picks up, while the sub-500 g weight means it won’t slow you down on the trail.

The “3L” in the material name refers to a three-layer build: a durable ripstop face fabric, a membrane that blocks wind and repels light rain, and a soft inner lining for comfort. This combination keeps drafts out, allows moisture vapour to escape, and delivers a balance of protection and breathability for active use.
