Product Description

The Dare to be Different Daktent 220XL is a soft-top rooftop tent designed to mount on your vehicle, giving you an elevated shelter wherever you roam. Its generous floor space and thoughtful construction make it a solid choice for campers who prefer sleeping off the ground without sacrificing comfort.

This tent’s 400 g canvas body and 420D polyester Oxford fly-top both feature a PU coating and UV-resistant finish, combining breathability with long-term durability. Underfoot, a high-pressure bonded aluminium sandwich floor with extra reinforcements provides a stable, rigid sleeping platform. Inside, a 6 cm thick polyester mattress (240 × 220 cm) with a removable cotton cover adds cushioning while remaining easy to clean after muddy adventures.

PU-coating refers to a thin layer of polyurethane applied to the fabric, helping it shed moisture and resist stains without significantly affecting airflow. Ripstop polyester uses a cross-woven reinforcement thread pattern to prevent small tears from spreading, extending the fly-top’s lifespan. The aluminium sandwich floor combines multiple bonded layers—aluminium skins around a core—to deliver both lightweight strength and rigidity under load.

With a sleeping area of 220 x 230 cm, it is suitable for four people. This 400 gram cotton rooftop tent is characterized by two ladders and a spacious awning above the two entrances. At Dare To Be Different we strive for an optimal living environment in our rooftop tents. the double roof system, the fly-top, creates an extra layer of insulation on top of the regular roof. This keeps the temperature in the rooftop tent pleasant on warm days. During cold nights, this extra insulation helps against heat loss. An important part of a pleasant living environment is ventilation. The rooftop tent can be optimally ventilated by two vents, two closable windows on the sides and two large windows opposite the entrances. The side windows and entrances can also remain open during a rain shower due to the cleverly placed Canopies To keep insects out, the vents, windows and door are provided with musk non-mesh.

There is a six centimeter thick mattress in the rooftop tent. Due to the mattress length of 230 cm, this rooftop tent is ideal for tall people. Around the mattress is a detachable and washable cover of 100% cotton. Furthermore, the rooftop tent is equipped with various handy storage compartments for storing a telephone, glasses or flashlight at night.

The 220XL is the largest rooftop tent in our range. The rooftop tent weighs 75kg.
