The Exped MegaMat Max LXW is a wide, thick sleeping mat designed for solo campers who want a comfortable and insulated rest on the trail or at base camp. Its generous size provides a stable surface whether you’re set up on soft soil or harder ground.

At 15 cm thick and nearly 77 cm wide, this mat feels more like a lightweight mattress than a typical pad. The 2D sandwich construction pairs recycled 50 D tricot polyester with a honeycomb-embossed TPU film laminate and open-cell PU foam, creating a stable, cushioned platform that also retains warmth. The extra width helps reduce pressure points and gives plenty of room to spread out.

The R-value of 10.6 indicates high thermal resistance, meaning the mat slows down heat loss to the ground and keeps you warmer on chilly nights. R-value is a standard measure of insulation performance—the higher the number, the better the mat blocks cold from underneath.
