The Hilleberg Anjan 3 GT is a lightweight tunnel tent designed to shelter three people on backpacking trips. Its interior footprint of 410 × 160 cm and 105 cm peak height offer enough room for sleeping and sitting up, all while keeping pack weight down.
The outer tent is made from 20-Denier high-tenacity ripstop nylon (Kerlon 1000) with silicone coatings on both sides, delivering a strong yet light shell that stands up to wind and abrasion. Inside, a 10-Denier ripstop nylon inner tent offers insect protection and ventilation without adding bulk, while the 50-Denier PU-coated floor adds durability against rough ground. Weighing in at 2.3 kg (2.0 kg trail weight) and packing down small with the included carry bag, guy lines and pegs, it balances protection and minimal load for multi-day hikes.
Denier indicates thread thickness: higher Denier fabrics resist tears better but weigh more. Silicone coatings bond to the nylon fibers, boosting strength and causing water to bead off the surface, while DWR (Durable Water Repellent) treatment on the inner tent helps surface moisture roll away. The PU (polyurethane) floor coating provides abrasion resistance and a water-resistant barrier against damp ground.
