The Khroma Kinetic Pants from Rab are men’s ski touring trousers designed to keep you protected when you’re heading into the backcountry. They work as a lightweight shell that helps block wind, snow and sleet while you’re on the move.
Cut in a regular fit, these pants pair a 90% polyamide and 10% elastane outer with a bonded 100% polyester polyurethane membrane. That blend gives you enough stretch for negotiating steep slopes and enough toughness to stand up to brush and boot buckles. On top of that, the fluorocarbon-free DWR treatment makes water bead off the surface, so a bit of snow or drizzle won’t soak in when you stop for a rest.
The 3-layer 20D Proflex™ construction means the nylon face fabric, the waterproof membrane and the inner backing are fused into one shell. The “20D” refers to the denier of the yarn—low enough to keep weight down but strong enough for rugged terrain. The polyurethane membrane acts as a barrier against external moisture while still letting perspiration escape, and the durable water-repellent finish sheds surface water without relying on fluorocarbons.
