Product Description

The Salomon Speedway Splitboard + Skins 21/22 is a backcountry snowboarding setup designed to help you climb and ride in remote, untouched terrain. It splits into two ski-like halves for uphill travel and comes with climbing skins to provide traction on steep ascents before reassembling into a full snowboard for the descent.

The board’s tapered directional shape and backseat camber profile work together to enhance flotation in deep snow and maintain control at speed. The wider nose and narrower tail of the tapered directional outline help the board stay on top of powder, while the backseat camber shifts your weight slightly rearward for improved stability and edge hold. Including skins with the package means you’ll have the essential grip material ready to go without hunting down separate accessories.

A tapered directional shape means the board’s nose is a bit wider than the tail and your stance is set slightly back, which makes turning in soft snow smoother and keeps the nose from diving. Backseat camber places the camber—or springy arch of the board—behind your front binding, giving better pop under your back foot and extra edge bite when you need it. Climbing skins, usually made from mohair or synthetic fibers, stick to the base with an adhesive edge and shed snow as you skin uphill, then peel off easily when you switch back to riding mode.
