The Volkl Rise Beyond 96 is a backcountry-oriented tour‐freeride ski designed to help you cover ground efficiently on the climb and stay versatile on the descent. With a 96 mm waist, it sits in the 90–100 mm category where float in softer snow meets nimble handling for tighter terrain.
With its 138 mm tip and 119 mm tail, the Rise Beyond 96 offers enough surface area to ride through softer snow without feeling cumbersome on firmer ground. The flat mounting platform ensures a consistent flex pattern underfoot, making edge engagement more predictable, and at 1,262 g per ski (170 cm), it keeps uphill efforts light while still carrying momentum for confident turns downhill.
In ski design, the radius refers to the sidecut radius or the arc the ski naturally follows when tilted on edge. A 16 m radius puts the Rise Beyond 96 in a sweet spot between quick, tighter turns and more drawn‐out arcing lines, so you can thread through tighter trees or carve longer turns on open slopes without the ski feeling overly reactive or sluggish.
