Wild Country Hoolie Compact 3

The Wild Country Hoolie Compact 3 is a three-person dome tent designed for backpackers who want a shelter that strikes a balance between weight and robustness. It’s aimed at anyone needing a dependable midweight tent for multi-day trips, offering enough space for three while still fitting comfortably in a pack.

Its flysheet and inner are both made from 68D ripstop polyester, treated with a PU coating for added water resistance and tear protection. The groundsheet uses Aqua Stop 68D PU fabric to stand up to rough terrain, and the 8.5 mm Superflex aluminium poles bend under stress and spring back to shape, so you get a tent that handles gusty conditions without hung-up adjustments.

Ripstop polyester is woven with a grid of thicker threads that stop small holes from spreading, and the PU (polyurethane) coating adds a lightweight layer that resists moisture. Superflex aluminium poles combine flexibility and strength: they flex in strong winds and return to their original curve, reducing the chance of snapped poles and keeping the tent upright when the weather turns.
